Last year, Lee Mitchell and Alexandros Brits of SORT decided that their marketing budget was better spent helping the artists they loved, rather than spending it all on fancy campaigns and advertisements. The #sortyourpriorities campaign works to promote unsigned bands in Liverpool. Through this, the team have managed to reach over two million people, receiving backing from the likes of Ed Sheeran and Two Door Cinema Club, both of whom have shouted about the initiative online.

As Lee puts it; “The reason I got into the music industry was to help young musicians start a career in music. To break unsigned artists and maybe even discover the next big thing. Instead of promoting ourselves, what if I spend the little I can afford on a more noble cause? By actually championing new music.”

One of the artists supported by the #sortyourpriorities initiative, and featuring on the “Sortiversary” line-up, is MANE, who in December amassed over one million Spotify hits for his song, ‘In Deep Lovers.’ He’s since gone on to perform at the O2 Academy Liverpool and Buyers Club.

Also featuring on the line-up, heavyweight outfit, Pale Rider will be bringing their unique dose of tripped-out rock to the stage. Still in their infancy, Pale Rider have gone from strength-to-strength over the past 12-months, with appearances on BBC Radio Merseyside and Amazing Radio.

Deltasonic Records favourites, Sunstack Jones will be bringing their festival-sized sounds to Constellations. Veterans of the Liverpool scene, they’re rarely found too far away from the tour bus, having played across the festival circuit for a number of years.

With new music on the way, “Sortiversary” may be your first chance to catch unreleased material from LOLA, the Liverpool-based quartet who are into the final of the O2 Academy Battle of the Bands competition. Catch them warming up before they go for gold at the end of April.
