Check out a selection of inspirations for On the Corner...

*Please note - These selections do not represent the forthcoming lineup for the event...we can only wish that Donald Byrd and Miles Davis would be able to join us on the day!*

On The Corner Liverpool

On the Corner will run in partnership with a number of the Liverpool's leading musical promoters...

Constellations have long been a champion for live music in the city; pushing regular free local jam sessions on Thursday nights, in addition to hosting the likes of Fatima & The Eglo Live Band and Sumo Chief back in 2017.

Melodic Distraction Radio are the city centre's foremost independent internet radio station; featuring guests from Africa Oyé, Modu:lar, 24 Kitchen Street and 47 other monthly shows. They often take their studio to the streets, having live-streamed band and DJ performances from Constellations and 3B records, to name a few. The station will be broadcasting live performances across the three day event.

Anti Social Jazz Club have been the busiest of bees since setting up shop last year. With a 3-day pop-up Japanese jazz festival under their belts, a Carhartt t-shirt collaboration and a record label on the way...their involvement with On the Corner should come as no surprise.

As their name states, Wide Open are about musical inclusivity and an open door policy to anything that comes across their decks. Having worked alongside Brazilica Festival, The Reeds on London Road and regularly featuring on Melodic Distraction Radio - their support of On the Corner will only serve to bolster the forward-thinking outlook of the event.

Madnice Marauders and No Fakin’ are synonymous in the city with jazz, hip hop, soul and broken-beat. Having brought the likes of Kamasi Washington and Thundercat to Liverpool for unexpected tour dates last year, we can only imagine what influence they will be bringing to the On the Corner line-up.

Down to Funk is a long standing friend of Constellations, having hosted events in the venue as far back as 2015. Now with a rich history of bookings behind them; having brought Moodymann, Crazy P, Guts and more to the city - they have become a cornerstone in Liverpool's underground music scene.

What these collaborators share is a common vision for an event series driven by musical discovery, a sense of community among venues and a desire to shout about Liverpool as a hub for creative musical projects.
