Nasty Women Liverpool

Now a worldwide movement, Nasty Women comes to Constellations as part of International Women’s Day Liverpool.

The exhibition launch event will take place on March 9th with live music from three fierce female artists; each of whom carry a unique, independent take on their craft.

Up first, and described as a “low-fi pop sensation in the waiting,” Hannah’s Little Sister will be blossoming from a solo-act into a quartet for the occasion.

Soulful blues meet energetic pop rock with the next act, Jessica Ray. An emerging artist who spends her time between Liverpool and Blackpool, Jessica Ray is determinedly independent with a DIY aesthetic. With her debut single dropping in April, this could be one of your first chances to catch a listen before the track is released.

Having already graced the Constellations stage as part of 2017’s Live Music Thursdays series, ANNA returns to complete the trio of artists performing at Nasty Women. Her music invokes a delicate sense of beauty and drama in each of her sets.

The Nasty Women launch event will showcase a range of artists, both visual and musical, whom often may not otherwise have the opportunity to exhibit or perform. The event's message will be one of inclusivity and celebration of the rich wealth of talent the North West has to offer.

"This is an incredible opportunity as Nasty Women Liverpool and doesn't just end at the exhibition!

This is about giving everyone who has participated a chance to shine. So many incredible women have been submitting work. If sold, the proceeds will go to charity. The charity want to become independent in the next few years as they are facing funding cuts. This charity really is a life line for the families that use it and we want to give them all the support they deserve." - Lo Green (Founder, Nasty Women Liverpool)

The Nasty Women Exhibition invites you to celebrate women in the arts, whilst simultaneously offering condemnation of Donald Trump's presidency and the discriminatory policies of his office.

All of the art on display will be for sale, with the funds raised going towards a Merseyside Based Women’s and Children’s Safe Refuge. Entrance is from 18:00 and is just £5 in advance, or £6 on the door.
