Constellations & The Observatory is an award winning, independently minded event space in the heart of the Baltic Triangle. The space, a regenerated warehouse and recycling yard. The result, an inspiring place to escape awhile under the sun and stars. All thoughtfully designed and curated for like minded people who share an interest in our great city’s rich arts and music scene.
The space brings people together, priding itself on its diversity. From late night parties to contemporary music events, from art exhibitions & markets to conferences & seminars. By day, this is a place to enjoy fresh, fuss-free food, catch up with friends, escape the office or simply take time to soak up the sun and, as dusk falls, the space is illuminated with events, stories, music and possibilities.
This backdrop of events orbit a regular (vegan & vegetarian friendly) breakfast and BBQ food offer, using meticulously sourced ingredients from independent local suppliers. Cooked and prepared with love in the Constellations outdoor BBQ kitchen and served from Tuesday - Sunday throughout the year.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner can be enjoyed in the unassuming and laid back environment of the garden or lobby-bar, or feel free to pre-order and take away. If you're popping in for a quick stop off then treat yourself to a freshly roasted coffee, loose leaf tea and a selection of homebaked cakes. Keep an eye out for special offers and pop-up food & drink events.
The venue comprises of two unique spaces. The first, a 4500 square foot garden and bar, occupying a disused industrial recycling yard. The garden bar recently won a national design award and made the shortlist for the prestigious RIBA award. The handmade wooden oak canopy is an immediate draw with it’s geometric design which takes inspiration from the site, where a former warehouse burned down in the 1980’s; the remaining gables provide a striking backdrop to the design and draws your eye upwards towards the sky. If you have traveled to Budapest, Amsterdam or south New Zealand you will notice the parallelisms in design, the DIY ethic and laidback atmosphere which have subtly influenced this urban retreat.
The garden bar stocks an extensive range of drinks including locally brewed craft beers such as the popular Love Lane. In warmer months the garden is a hotbed for festivals and open air parties. As the summer takes a raincheck the garden is transformed into a winter retreat, perfect for food & drink events, winter weddings and christmas celebrations. Be sure to visit the Constellations website to check what’s on.
The second space is an 8000 square foot warehouse called The Observatory, transformed into one of Liverpool’s most versatile and hireable grassroots venues. Complete with a lobby-bar that can double as a reception for the main event space; an open-plan blank canvas perfect for music events, conferences and exhibitions. Pop down at the weekend and the venue will be alive with energy, if you prefer more intimate entertainment then pay a visit mid week and relax to some of the city’s best local live music and comedy.
The venue is attracting the attention of the business community, with the event space often hosting workshops, networking events, seminars and product launches. It’s one of a few 500+ capacity spaces in the city offering an alternative to conventional conference facilities.
With determination and unrestrained enthusiasm Constellations continue to push the city’s cultural offering forward. Bringing something new to it’s Greenland Street home in the Baltic Triangle. Connecting the dots between the practical and the creative, the new and the historic and a constantly evolving story.
